Code of Ethics

This Code of Ethics governs the professional conduct of Nicol Heard in the capacity of Intuitive Business Mentor, and applies to all services delivered under the Nicol Heard Coaching brand. In recognition of the unregulated nature of the intuitive sciences and online business industry, this document serves to affirm a commitment to ethical standards of excellence, responsibility, and professionalism.


1. Commitment

I am dedicated to upholding the integrity of the intuitive sciences and online business mentoring profession. I acknowledge the importance of self-regulation in an unregulated industry and will operate in alignment with the principles set out herein. This Code of Ethics is designed to promote accountability, trust, and a consistently high standard of service delivery.

3. Confidentiality


Client confidentiality will be respected at all times. Any legal or contractual limitations on confidentiality will be clearly communicated to clients where relevant. Confidential information will not be disclosed without the client’s explicit consent, except where disclosure is required by law.


4. Professional Conduct


I shall conduct myself with professionalism, courtesy, and respect towards all clients and colleagues.
In particular:


  • I will prioritise client welfare and uphold their dignity throughout all sessions.
  • I shall refrain from any conduct that may bring disrepute upon myself, my profession, or my fellow practitioners.
  • I will not engage in public criticism or disparagement of other practitioners.
  • I will avoid misleading or deceptive practices of any kind.
  • I accept personal responsibility for my decisions and actions and will take reasonable care to foresee and mitigate any adverse consequences.
  • I will not provide services to individuals under the age of 18.
  • I will not engage in any form of unjust discrimination.
  • I will not exploit clients emotionally, financially, or otherwise, and under no circumstances will I engage in any form of sexual activity or inappropriate relationship with a client.


5. Competence


I am committed to continuous personal and professional development.
I shall:

  • Practise within the limits of my training, qualifications, and experience.
  • Avoid misrepresentation of my capabilities, credentials, or scope of service.
  • Decline to provide services or advice that exceed my level of competence.


6. Responsibility and Referrals


Where appropriate, I will advise clients to seek assistance from qualified professionals, including but not limited to medical practitioners or mental health professionals, where client needs fall beyond my scope of expertise. I will maintain appropriate Public Liability Insurance to protect clients and myself in the course of service delivery.


7. Records and Data Management


  • Client records shall be maintained confidentially and stored securely.
  • Records will only be shared with the client’s express consent or as required by law.
  • Clients may request a copy of their records or session recording, where available.
  • In instances where sessions are recorded, such recordings will be stored securely on OneDrive and made available for download for a period of 30 days.
  • Clients are encouraged to download their recordings within 48 hours of receipt.
  • All data will be disposed of in a confidential and secure manner in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

8. Client Relations and Payment


  • I will honour the trust placed in me by each client and shall treat all clients with compassion, dignity, and respect.
  • I will not misuse my position to influence or manipulate a client.
  • I will consider the client’s physical and emotional comfort and honour requests within ethical and professional boundaries.
  • All services are to be paid in full prior to the commencement of the session.
  • Clients will be informed of all relevant terms, including fee structures, cancellation policies, and conditions, in a clear and transparent manner.
